Wintergarten - a magical lighting inspiration

When I was writing my blog about landscape lighting this exuberant artful lighting installation kept popping into my mind. Not that I am planning on adding color to my landscape design anytime soon, but this was just so inspiring.

The light installation Wintergarten in the Botanical garden of Frankfurt that took place this January is an example of wonderfully innovative use of light as art. Designed by Wolfgang Flammersfeld, who used thousands of lights, LEDs and projectors, the Palmhouse of the Frankfurt botanical garden was transformed into a sparkling colorful magical place. Video animations were projected onto trees, landscape and buildings creating unique, mesmerizing effects.
