Why we love Louis Poulsen

Since I grew up in Denmark I grew up with Louis Poulsen lamps. They were iconic designs that you saw in practically every high end residence or business. And looking through all my favorite Scandinavian interior design blogs these days I see that this has not changed. They are truly modern classics. The Danish icon lighting company Louis Poulsen has distributed the best in lighting since the 1920s. Their primary designer Poul Henningsen chose function, comfort, and ambiance as the three main pillars in the philosophy for his lighting designs and the entire company has continued to build on these values. The designs stand out for their simplicity and focus on the purpose of the fixtures: delivering light. Nothing more or less.

The Artichoke by Poul Henningsen provides 100% glare-free light. Made of 72 leaves it is a stunning fixture with a strong presence in a room. The leaves illuminate the fixture and emit diffused light with a unique pattern.

"Louise Campbell's Collage in peaceful new colors

The well known Collage light fixture is being released in a new version to celebrate 10 years since its launch.

The fixture began attracting attention back in 2005 as soon as Louis Poulsen introduced it onto the world market in cooperation with the designer, Louise Campbell.

Ten years on, the Collage light fixture now hangs in homes, institutions, universities, hospitals and numerous restaurants around the world.

Collage is being released in a new series of douche colors, and a new matt velour-like finish. These give Collage a completely new identity, and the fascinating shadow patterns formed by the three-layer shade set have an exclusive new and different look." ( - Louis Poulsen)
