Louis Poulsen PH 3/2 Table Lamp
Since I was born and grew up in Denmark everything Danish is of course close to my heart. The lamps by Poul Henningsen are some of my very favorites and they have over the years gained iconic standard as modern classics (so it's not just me!) . The Louis Poulsen PH 3/2 has a reflective three-shade system, which makes it an ideal desk lamp. The the majority of the light shines downwards, but since the shades are made of glass it also provides pleasant ambient light. The hand-blown opal three-layer glass is glossy on the top surface and sandblasted matte on the underside, which gives a uniquely soft and diffused light distribution.
Poul Henningsen designed the three-shade system in the mid 1920s and continued using this basic design for a variety of floor and table lamps, pendant and wall lights throughout his long career as a product designer for Louis Poulsen.
