Vermont Modern - Yesss!
Last week Hubbardton Forge introduced their new contemporary collection Vermont Modern at Lightovation (aka Dallas Market.)
Color, innovative design, quirkiness, fun paired with quality and attention to detail. What is there not to love?
I have enjoyed a wonderful working relationship for decades with my friends at Hubbardton Forge and have always appreciated their designs and exquisite craftsmanship. It was therefore such a treat to get introduced to Vermont Modern.
My absolute favorite piece was the Cumulus, below. This unique fixture is available both as a floor lamp and a pendant plus a mini-pendant. Each “leaf” of this contemporary sculptural fixture is crafted from a single steel plate, cut and folded to create facets – nine on each plate. Both the floor lamp as well as the large pendant have 18 separate plates for a total of 162 facets that filter and redirect the light. The individual leaves articulate, with one plate on either end of a steel bar for balance, which creates the unique effects of movement. Design Team Leader, David Martin, found his inspiration for the Cumulus from the organic shape of tree leaves.
