Holtkoetter has been named winner of the Lighting For Tomorrow (LFT) Competition for the energy-efficient and cutting-edge design of its PLANO LED torchiere. The award was “… judged on lighting performance, marketability, ease of installation, innovation, and energy efficiency.” according to the LFT press release from January, 2015, and was presented to President Thomas J. Lillie of Holtkoetter during the American Lighting Association Annual Conference at the Hyatt Regency in Huntington Beach. The Consortium for Energy Efficiency (CEE), The American Lighting Association (ALA) and Underwriters Laboratories (UL) organize the Lighting For Tomorrow competition annually.

The PLANO 9901 torchiere was brought to the American market by Holtkoetter through its sister company in Germany: Holtkoetter Leuchten GmbH. For just 40 Watts of energy consumption, an impressive 4300 Lumen output is achieved. Using warm-white LEDs and dimming controls that include a memory function, judges in the competitions stated: “perfect engineering, design and materials,” “elegant control system,” and “sleek contemporary design – excellent!”

Holtkoetter has added new torchieres to the LED lineup, which is just the beginning of new LED additions to the Holtkoetter product selection, according to Lillie. “It's an honor to be recognized for our innovative efforts as we diligently strive to provide highly engineered, quality products that contain strong light output while achieving the maximum energy efficiency as possible.”

Holtkoetter introduced PLANO at the Dallas International Lighting Market in January, 2015.
